Listen to the episode with our Top 5’s here
In episode 77 myself and Cev talked about our top physical releases we’d picked up on 2019, although Cev is much more of a collector than I, I still managed to pick up a fair amount myself. Below is a list of my full top 10-6, the top 5 were talked about on the episode:
10: The Predator (Steelbook 4K UHD)
This is a great looking steel book that I picked up on offer at Zavvi in the summer, I am a sucker for a steel book. The film features Dolby Atmos audio but no Dolby Vision but it still looks amazing. Say what you like about the film the tin it’s self is lovely.
9. Fast And Furious 8 (steelbook, bluray)
The film isn’t great and this disc isn’t particularly packed out however the steelbook is lovely to have on the shelf as I am a car guy.
8: Bad Boys (4K UHD)
Again I bloody love this film however it the extras on this disc are non-existent which is annoying I was hoping to get my teeth into some extras for one of my favourite films. The film looks great in 4K though and has upscaled really well and sounds great with the help of Dolby Atmos.
7: Mission Impossible Fallout (4K UHD)
This is a great film and possible one of the best films of the series. Something we need to discuss in a future episode. This release is packed with features the film is in Dolby Atmos and Vision so not only does it sound great it also looks amazing. The disc is also packed with director commentaries, making of, deleted scenes and stuns.
6: Shazam (4K UHD)
This made it really high up on overall films of 2019, some of my physical medias didn’t qualify because I had seen them before however this is great film and the physical release backs this up. Unfortunately this doesn’t have Dolby Vision but still looks great but it does have Dolby Atoms to make up for it so you hear every Shazam, this is packed with an Motion comic to go through, gag real, deleted scenes and also alternative opening and endings.
